As I got out of the shower last night, I saw this little goodie sitting in my bathroom storage container (next to extra razors, hair brushes and random samples) and decided that it was perfect to give myself a little pampering. Usually I just slab on (quite literally) some coconut oil as moisturizer, so this felt like a very special treat. Oh and that vanilla scent! Seriously cannot get enough of it!
But first let’s have a look at the company and the ingredients, because, as we all know, a lovely smell isn’t the most important thing when it comes to skincare.
Who is CMD?
- German natural cosmetics brand, who produces locally
- No chemicals (only natural resources)
- No animal testing
- Sustainable and eco-friendly packaging
The butter is made from mostly raw materials, which are certified organic, such as Shea butter, cacao butter, vanilla extract, jojoba oil and vitamin E. (You can check out an entire list of ingredients here).
How cute is the shell design? I warmed up the butter a little bit between my fingers and then rubbed it all over my legs and arms. Then I massaged the product into my skin with my hands. The texture feels incredible rich and creamy, leaving your skin super soft and well nourished. Even now, the next day, my legs still feel really soft and well moisturized. Plus they still smell like vanilla and chocolate, which has to be the most amazing scent in all of the beauty world – so yummy!
After using the butter very generously on my arms and legs, this is how much I had left. Obviously, this is not meant as a daily moisturizer, but rather as a special pamper treatment, which will hydrate and nourish your skin extremely well. You could also use it as a massage bar. However, I will be using the rest of mine in the shower tonight as the product is also supposed to work with water , so basically like an in-shower moisturizer (pretty cool, huh?!).
Where to buy?
I was given this as a gift, so I am not 100% sure where it was originally purchased, but I know that Ecco-Verde (a European distributor of natural skincare and cosmetics) sells the brand, including some of their body butters.
What is your favorite pamper treatment? As you can see, sometimes it can be as simple as thanking your body by giving it that extra nourishment!
